Allied Air Forces Memorial

The Caithness Allied Air Forces Memorial is progressing with well in excess of 500 names being identified of serving personnel that died whilst operating from Caithness Airfields.

We are not including RAF Personnel from Caithness that were killed whilst serving from another location, nor aircrews that crashed in Caithness from another RAF Base as these losses are captured on other memorials.

Our intention is to have a memorial panel with the full list of names on display in rememberance of those that gave their lives whist serving from Caithness airfields.  In addition to this and as a centrepiece for the memorial, we would like to have a full-scale spitfire on display at the entrance to Wick Airport, something similar to the picture below.  This is a long-term project that will be developed over the next few years but will will bring regular updates as our fundraising efforts commence and progress.

Stay tuned for details on our progress and how to help us reach our goals.  Why not join our email list to Keep Up to Date
